Concepts are topical ideas generated by MIRO staff, Members and other interested parties. They are early stage ideas which may have the potential to be combined or proceed individually to proposal development. The concept stage is intended to sound out core ideas for proposals and to recruit project partners. At this stage MIRO will also seek external funding to facilitate the development of successful projects.
Concepts are published on this website for the sole benefit of MIRO Members, who are encouraged to provide concepts, comment on them and, if interested, to support the development of concepts into proposals for funding and project development.

Current proposals on this website are those that are either being prepared or those that have been submitted for funding and are awaiting final approval.

There may be an opportunity to join these proposed research projects and Members are encouraged to contact MIRO if they have any interest in participating in any proposal.

Proposals are generated from concepts presented by Members, research providers and any other industry stakeholders. They may also arise from the networks and from focused MIRO Research Advisory Panels (RAPS), which are called from time to time. The ownership of the concept or proposal rests with the proposer and the ownership of the results of a subsequent research project will be determined by a collaboration agreement for the project between the partners. MIRO does not hold IPR rights for any project deliverables.
