Access to Experience

As a specialist research management organisation with extensive experience in the development and management of a wide range of technology based R&D initiatives associated with the minerals and related industries, MIRO provides its members with an invaluable technical resource.

MIRO personnel provide technical input to development of research concepts and proposals, identify opportunities to secure project co-funding and implement projects through professional delivery of high quality project management and technology transfer support services.

By using the resources and experience available at MIRO, members are able to benefit from participation in world class R&D programmes that are often beyond the reach of companies acting alone.

Adding Value

MIRO delivers added value to its members by promoting the development of collaborative partnerships that share the cost of R&D initiatives, and by securing co-funding for the majority of projects under its management.

Through extensive networks of industry based contacts MIRO provides a highly effective means of identifying collaborative partnerships with common technical objectives.

Most MIRO managed projects benefit from substantial public sector co-funding which significantly reduces the financial burden on participating organisations, and leads to exceptional levels of industry expenditure gearing.

New Opportunities

Through technical networks, project groups, research advisory panels, information advisory services, newsletters, technical bulletins, participation in technical consultative committees and direct one to one communications, MIRO acts as a central point of contact and information exchange for Members.

MIRO information systems serve to alert Members to new technological opportunities; to introduce organisations with common technological goals and to promote exchange of ideas between industry and technology providers.

For many organisations membership of MIRO has resulted in the development of numerous new business opportunities that have had a direct operational and
economic benefit.
